What is Jr. NBA 3v3?
Jr. NBA 3v3 aims to support teachers in delivering fun on court experiences and additional opportunities for boys and girls to play, get active, and build friendships.

What do I need to know?
- What is 3v3 basketball? 3v3 is a fast-paced, easy-to-learn version of basketball. All you need is six players, half a court and a ball! Check out our 3v3 packs for the key rules and games to get started!
- What’s next for the Jr. NBA 3v3 tournament? Following a hugely successful inaugural year — which culminated in an unforgettable finals event at Trafalgar Square — the NBA and London Marathon Events are excited to deliver Year 2 of the Jr. NBA 3v3 tournament.
Entries open from 5 January to 30 January 2026.
Teams will compete in borough competitions and regional qualifiers. Winning teams from the secondary school tournament will be invited to the Finals Festival, held in Trafalgar Square in July 2026. There will be exciting NBA prizes and a celebration of basketball talent across the city.
What’s new for 2026?
A dedicated primary school element will be introduced for ages 9-11, featuring mixed teams, giving even more young players the chance to get involved and shine on the court.
The secondary school tournament will include:
- Girls’ teams and boys’ teams in Years 9 to 10
- Mixed wheelchair teams in Years 8 to 11
